Shepherdstown, WV · Service area

A wedding photographer who actually lives in Shepherdstown.

This is home base. If your wedding is in Shepherdstown, I am not traveling to it. I am walking the dogs past it.

Why that matters for your photos

I have photographed weddings here since 2018, including days at the Bavarian Inn overlooking the Potomac. I know when the light drops behind the ridge, which streets glow at the end of the day, and where to take you for portraits when the schedule gives us fifteen minutes instead of forty.

Small college town, big river, real character. Shepherdstown weddings tend to be intimate by nature, and intimate weddings are the center of my work: roughly 20 weddings a year, most between 20 and 80 guests.

The practical part

There is no travel fee anywhere near Shepherdstown, because there is no travel. Weddings start at $5,500, most couples land between $6,000 and $8,500, and you get a personal reply to your inquiry, usually within the hour.

The venues

Shepherdstown-area wedding venues I have photographed

Every venue here comes from a real wedding in my records.

Bavarian Inn Resort

Shepherdstown, WV · on the bluff over the Potomac

The classic Shepherdstown wedding venue: a European-style inn on the bluff with the Potomac doing backdrop duty. Getting ready, ceremony, tent reception, and the sparkler part of the evening all happen on one property.

Photographed Lauren and Jordan's reception and getting-ready here, and Andrea and Patrick's wedding day.

Christ Reformed Church

Martinsburg, WV · 20 minutes away

A traditional church ceremony paired with a Shepherdstown reception is a combination that works: the drive between the two is short, and the light on the way back tends to cooperate.

Photographed Lauren and Jordan's ceremony here before their Bavarian Inn reception.

Beyond the venues

Portraits in downtown Shepherdstown

German Street and the town core

Stone walls, brick storefronts, and the white columns of the university buildings, all within a few walkable blocks. You do not need to leave town for portraits; I use these streets constantly.

The vendor index

Eastern Panhandle wedding pros I have worked alongside

Worked alongside means we served the same real wedding. Honest thoughts available on request.

  • West VirJeni Florist A Shepherdstown-based floral studio. We worked the same Shenandoah elopement, and she has expressed interest in working together again.
  • FM Wedding Planner (Forever Moments) Planning & coordination Has coordinated multiple weddings with me across the region, including Harpers Ferry Brewing.
