Plenty of my couples live in DC. Some marry in it, on courthouse steps and in hotel ballrooms. Many use it as the launch point for a wedding in the hills west of the city. I photograph both.
If your plan is a DC courthouse ceremony with the people who matter most, I will make it feel like the event it actually is. If your plan is getting everyone out of the city to a vineyard, an overlook, or a river town, that is the direction I drive home anyway.
Travel is included for DC weddings, the same as the rest of the core area covering Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Documentary first, direction when it helps. Roughly a hundred finished photographs per hour of coverage, a full edited gallery within six weeks, and a personal reply to your inquiry, usually within the hour.
The venues
Navy Yard, Washington, DC
A working winery on the Anacostia with modern glass and warm wood. Three days there in one season means I know where the light falls, where the portraits work, and how the timeline actually flows. Second-photographer work is credited exactly as that.
